St Mary MacKillop Catholic Primary School is now in it’s fifth year and has grown from a very small school of 65 children to a school of 364 children and growing every year. Our aim is to have three classes at each year level giving us 21 class groupings and around 525 children.
A great deal has been achieved in our 5 years. We have worked through 2 stages of our Master Plan (See plan below) and are currently working on Stage 3 which should be completed in early 2024. We are hopeful that in the near future we will be able to complete this building with Stage 3A and add the remaining 4 classrooms, making this a 12 classroom building that will house our Year 3 – 6 children.
Along the way we have been able to create some award winning play spaces, married new buildings with heritage buildings and rejuvenate what was a tired government school into a vibrant, exciting catholic school.
At the core of our belief is that the wellbeing of the child is of the utmost importance if learning is to take place and children can develop and flourish to their fullest potential. We invest heavily in resources, teacher development and personnel to make this core value a reality in our school. We truly aim to be like Mary MacKillop and care for the children in our care.
We have a dedicated staff of teachers, learning support officers, administrative staff and Allied Health personnel who work hard at delivering not only an excellent curriculum offering but a way of being. As a school community we aim to live out our values of RESPECT, COMPASSION, COURAGE and INCLUSION in all that we do.
We embrace the community we are part of and welcome all of our families to journey with us as we rebuild our community after COVID and bring back the sense of belonging and community that was not possible during the COVID years.
We hope that all who join us will enjoy their time in our school community and take away fond memories of their time here. Our aim is to help shape the adults, leaders and good global citizens for a bright future.
